Chung Gi Wa 청기와 Korean Restaurant

Chung Gi Wa 청기와 has opened their outlet at Supermal Karawaci since December 2014. From its name, it is clear that this is a Korean restaurant. Right? Since I really love Korean food, it has always been tempting to dine in various Korean restaurant.

It is quite spacious here. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted by the waitress and a Korean man whom I assumed was the owner. And then, he showed us to a table where we would be seated.
First they served a bottle of tea for free and then they served the complimentary side dishes.

The complimentary side dishes (banchan)
Kimchi (김치)
Kimchi - Banchan
Radish Salad / Musaengchae (무생채)
Radish Salad - Banchan
It is matchsticks cut radish which tasted like cabbage kimchi.

Seasoned Spinach / Sigeumchi Namul (시금치나물)

Seasoned Spinach - Banchan

Braised Baby Potato / Algamja-jorim  (알감자조림)
Braised Baby Potato - Banchan

Stir-fried Chayote

Pickled Radish
Pickled Radish - Banchan
I really like this one. It was refreshing.

Korean Spicy Dipping Sauce / Ssamjang (쌈장)
The middle one was korean spicy dipping sauce. It is mix of fermented soybean paste (doenjang) and hot pepper paste (gochujang).

Steamed Egg / Gyeranjjim (계란찜)
Steamed Egg - Complimentary Dish
We got this steamed egg as a complimentary dish because we ordered two portions of meat.

Green Onion Pancake / Pajeon (파전)

Green Onion Pancake - Banchan
Pajeon is a pancake-like Korean dish.

Mokdeungsim (목등심)
Mokdeungsim - IDR 87 K ++
Mokdeungsim is pork neck meat which has lease fat. It was tender and juicy. The meat itself was a little bit bland because it was only marinated with salt and pepper. So I suggest you to dip it in their dipping sauce (ssamjang). That will make it tastier.
My style of ssam
Ssam (쌈) in Korean means "Wrapped". This is how I usually wrap my meat before eating it. I use lettuce, perilla leaves, meat, lot of kimchi and garlic. It's so yum yum!

Bulgogi (불고기)

Bulgogi - IDR 87 K ++
This one is my favorite. The thinly sliced beef was well-marinated, tender and of course yummy. There was a smokey flavor creating a delicious taste sensation.

Bulgogi Kimbab (불고기 김밥)

Bulgogi Kimbab - IDR 35 K ++
Kimbab looks like Japanese sushi. Japanese sushi uses rice vinegar, whereas Kimbab does not use it but rather sesame oil. This kimbab is filled with bulgogi, crab stick, cucumber, egg, radish pickled (danmuji).

Overall, I am satisfied and definitely will come back for more.
